From Minnesota Coffee Scene to Functional Wellness

I didn't just stumble into coffee—I was raised by it.

My story began in Minnesota, where my stepfather spent years selling espresso machines for Faema, the legendary Italian manufacturer that revolutionized espresso technology. Growing up around gleaming commercial equipment and café operations, I didn't just learn to make coffee—I learned to build coffee businesses.

That foundation led me to:

  • Consult on café openings across Minnesota

  • Manage a high-volume coffee cart for Gap Inc.

  • Own and operate "The Nicollet"—my own café

After proving myself in Minnesota, I spent time in Colorado before taking my expertise to the San Francisco Bay Area, where I worked in sales and consulting with Mr. Espresso in Oakland—one of the industry's most respected roasters. Living on the island of Alameda and working with top Bay Area restaurants taught me that exceptional coffee is about craft, quality, and creating moments that matter.

Returning to Minnesota, I founded Terra Firma Roasting Company, sourcing and roasting specialty coffee sold at some of the nicest co-ops and grocery stores around the Twin Cities. This gave me complete mastery of the coffee supply chain—from green bean sourcing to roast profile development to retail distribution.

After Terra Firma and time in Wisconsin, I had a new vision: combine decades of coffee expertise with functional wellness to create something entirely new.

Why Borea Elixirs?

From consulting on café openings to running my own place, from Gap Inc. to Mr. Espresso sales and consulting, from founding Terra Firma Roasting to careers spanning building, design, and beverage management, I experienced firsthand the burnout that comes from relying solely on caffeine. I wanted sustained energy without the crash, mental clarity without the jitters, and better sleep without sacrificing my morning ritual.

So I created it.

Borea Elixirs combines premium espresso-grade ingredients with medicinal mushrooms, all sourced from USA-grown, organic farms. Each formula is crafted with the same attention to detail I learned from my stepfather's Faema machines, refined through owning The Nicollet, elevated through Mr. Espresso consulting, and perfected at Terra Firma Roasting.

For years, I've also made chocolate from scratch at home—understanding ingredients at their most fundamental level. This hands-on approach taught me that the best products come from people who genuinely use and love what they make.
